Night Feeds & Sleep
Nightlight Options for 2am Feeds (When Your Chair Doesn't Have One Built In)
To be upfront: the chair we review on this site doesn't have a confirmed built-in nightlight. If that's a feature you specifically want, here's how to get the same result with a standalone option instead.
What to actually look for
- Warm, dim light - amber or red-toned lights are less disruptive to everyone's ability to fall back asleep than cool white or blue light
- Plug-in outlet nightlights near the chair - simple, always-on, no batteries to remember
- Motion-activated or remote-controlled options if you want it off by default and on only when needed
- Adjustable brightness so you can dim it further as your baby gets more sensitive to light over the first months
Where to put it
Position it so it lights your immediate feeding/changing area without shining directly at the crib or your baby's face - a low outlet plug near your chair's side table setup usually works well.
A simple, low-cost setup
A basic plug-in amber nightlight near your chair, combined with keeping your phone brightness low if you check it during feeds, covers most of what a built-in nightlight would offer - without needing that specific chair feature.
